MSFS 2024 Performance Tracker
Real-world performance testing for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Higher FPS doesn't always mean a smoother flight. This page tracks NVIDIA driver performance, simulator updates, frame-time consistency, and stuttering behavior using real flight recordings collected with IslandSimPilot Performance Manager.
Uncap FPS to understand performance. Cap FPS to optimize the experience.
Introducing the IslandSimPilot Performance Index (IPI)
One score. A more complete picture of performance.
Average FPS tells you how fast your simulator runs, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
The IslandSimPilot Performance Index combines average FPS, 1% and 0.1% FPS lows, frame-time consistency, and regular and severe performance events into a single score from 0 to 100.
The higher the IPI, the better the measured performance.
Compare NVIDIA drivers using three standardized flight scenarios, or select multiple drivers to calculate an IPI using only their shared scenarios.
Compare NVIDIA Drivers
Select two or more NVIDIA drivers to compare their measured performance. The IslandSimPilot Performance Index (IPI) automatically uses only the benchmark scenarios shared by your selected drivers, ensuring that equivalent flight workloads are compared.
Overall IPI
All three benchmark scenarios included:
The IslandSimPilot Performance Index combines average FPS, 1% and 0.1% FPS lows, frame-time standard deviation, and regular and severe performance-event frequency into a single score out of 100. Higher scores indicate better measured performance under the tested conditions.
Overall IPI represents the equally weighted results of all three standardized benchmark scenarios: Jet, Florida GA (Photogrammetry), and Caribbean GA.
Common-Scenario IPI is used when some benchmark scenarios are unavailable. It automatically includes only the scenarios shared by all selected drivers, with each shared scenario weighted equally.
Results are calculated from actual flight recordings using IPI version 0.2. Simulator versions and other environmental conditions may vary between test dates.
Driver Performance Over Time
Explore how NVIDIA driver performance has changed across our standardized Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 benchmarks. Select a flight scenario and a performance metric to examine the actual recorded results behind the IslandSimPilot Performance Index.
Caribbean GA — IPI
| NVIDIA Driver | Test Runs | IPI |
|---|
Each point shows the average result from the test flights recorded for that NVIDIA driver and flight scenario. For example, if two flights recorded 60 and 64 FPS, the graph would show their average of 62 FPS.
The blue line connects the tested driver versions, making it easy to see how performance has changed.
Higher FPS and IPI scores are better. Lower frame-time variation and fewer performance events are better.
Results are based on standardized flight tests. Some were performed under different simulator versions, which may also influence performance. Missing tests are not estimated.

Reading the results: Higher FPS, FPS lows, and IPI scores are better. Lower frame-time variation and performance-event rates are generally better.
Regular/hr counts non-severe performance events per recorded hour. Severe/hr counts severe events per recorded hour.

Results come from recorded Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 flights analyzed using IslandSimPilot Performance Manager. Each row represents one standardized testing scenario under a particular NVIDIA driver.
Measurements are averages of the qualifying flight summaries for each driver and scenario. The IPI uses our experimental version 0.2 scoring formula.
Jet history uses MKJS to KMIA outbound flights for consistency. Newer tests also record return flights, which are retained separately.
Florida GA uses the KOPF to KFLL photogrammetry benchmark. Older 610.88 Florida recordings used a different route and are excluded. Caribbean GA uses standardized C172 flights around TQPF, Anguilla.
Results reflect the simulator builds and testing environment available at the time. Missing scenarios are not estimated, and missing data does not count as zero.
Our Benchmark Scenarios
Three repeatable flight scenarios examine different aspects of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 performance. Together, they provide a more complete picture of frame delivery, smoothness, and rendering performance than a single benchmark.
Jet
Tests performance during complex airliner operations, including demanding airports, detailed aircraft systems, departure, cruise, and arrival. Longer recordings help reveal interruptions that may not appear during short tests.
Florida GA (Photogrammetry)
Flies through dense South Florida urban scenery, including photogrammetry, buildings, and detailed terrain. This uncapped test helps expose rendering throughput and frame-delivery limitations without an intentional FPS ceiling.
Caribbean GA
Uses a repeatable island flight to evaluate frame pacing, lower-FPS behavior, and performance-event frequency in a different scenery environment from South Florida. This benchmark emphasizes consistency under capped operation.
